Education IT Network Resource and Account Policy

  • College of Education network resources exist for Purdue University College of Education academic and business purposes. Non-College of Education personnel or individuals who are not actively participating in SOE business or projects may not obtain accounts to access College of Education network resources.
  • College of Education network resource accounts and account information are confidential.  Users may not give their account password to anyone else—inside or outside of the College of Education.
  • College of Education network resources exist to facilitate College of Education business, and may not be used for commercial purposes.
  • College of Education network resources are shared resources.  Excessive use of the network resources is not permitted and may result in the loss of user privileges.
  • The College of Education is not responsible for any unofficial content originating from College of Education network resources such as email accounts or web sites. The Internet is a public community and the College of Education assumes no responsibility for topics of public discussion.

  • Harassment and vandalism originating from the College of Education network resources (including but not limited to email and web sites) will result in the immediate freezing of the account of the perpetrator.  College of Education administration reserves the right to freeze an account at any time until an inquiry and/or appeal to College of Education administration can be initiated.

  • Account retention:  Accounts will remain active while College of Education personnel are employed or engaged in College of Education activities.  Accounts will be deactivated and removed when College of Education personnel are no longer employed with the College of Education or engaged in College of Education activities / collaboration.   An account may be removed immediately after employment or engagement ends.  The length of time before removal occurs will be handled on a case by case basis subject to College of Education Deans, Department heads, Directors, and Supervisors.
